CBG (Cannabigerol) and CBD (Cannabidiol) extracted from Hemp Can Reduce Sinus Symptoms

According to a 2022 scientific study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, a higher frequency of cannabis use is associated with a lower likelihood of sinonasal symptoms. However, the reasons why are not so clear. Other studies in the past have revealed that cigarette smokers are often plagued by sinus and nasal symptoms, unlike frequent marijuana users.

Experts, however, cautioned that you can’t just fight off sinusitis by smoking marijuana. It may even be a typical case of reverse causation, with people experiencing sinus or nasal symptoms avoiding marijuana on purpose.

Other research has discovered that cannabinoids such as CBG (Cannabigerol) and Cannabidiol (CBD) exhibit anti-inflammatory effects on the respiratory tract that is dose-dependent, which may minimize swelling in the mucus membranes of the nose and sinus cavities. Ideally, that could help alleviate nasal and sinus symptoms of nasal congestion, sinus pressure, or postnasal drip. The only way to know for sure is with more research. Longer-term studies could help figure out the question. However, there is clinical evidence that CBD and CBG sinus rinses can alleviate uncomfortable symptoms of nasal and sinus congestion, which originate from sinonasal mucosal inflammation.

A 2021 scientific study published in the Journal of Pulmonary Pharmacology and Therapeutics  has provided evidence that CBD and CBG formulated appropriately exhibit anti-inflammatory activity in the respiratory tract, and suggest that these non-psychoactive cannabinoids may have beneficial effects in treating diseases characterized by airway inflammation.

A unique and innovative solution to these sinus symptoms is introduced with SinusReLeaf Natural Sinus Rinse, a  CBG (Cannabigerol) and Xylitol sinus rinse that reduces the inflammation associated with allergies, the common cold or flu, as well as bacterial or fungal infections of the sinuses and nose. The Xylitol in our SinusReLeaf formulation exhibits anti-bacterial properties and complements the anti-inflammatory property of the CBG/CBD extracted exclusively from Hemp. In addition, there is additional synergistic effect of adding Xylitol to the CBG/CBD, which enhances anti-microbial activity against nasal and respiratory tract pathogens.
